Today we′re going to talk a little bit about Jennifer Aniston. Specifically that that woman′s body seems to not only NOT be aging, but in fact seems to be going the opposite direction. What is she doing? Injections from baby lambs? Drinking Juice from the rainforest? Sleeping like a bat hanging upside down? Alas, while these make for fun visuals- my research tells me otherwise… She is in fact, a devoted follower of Power Vinyasa Yoga.

Today you Girls can get your “Aniston body on” with the following options:

  • $15 for 3 Hot Yoga Classes ($54 Value)
  • $39 for 1-Month of Unlimited Hot Yoga Classes ($200 Value)
  • $55 for a Private Instruction Hot Yoga Class for up to 4 People ($110 Value) at Firefly Hot Yoga!

The practice of yoga is said to be thousands of years old and has gone through numerous transitions throughout its history. At Firefly Yoga, their students study what is best described as “Hot Power Vinyasa Flow” yoga. The word Vinyasa is derived from the Sanskrit term nyasa, which means “to place,” and the prefix vi, “in a special way”. Its most common English translation is “breath-synchronized movement.” Pranayama is the art of breath control. From a Yogic point of view, proper breathing involves controlling the “prana”, or vital life energy by bringing more oxygen to the blood and to the brain. Firefly Hot Yoga believes that proper breathing and synchronization are also very beneficial in helping the student to focus on his or her practice and achieve the unity of mind/body/spirit that is at the core of all Yoga. Their approach to Vinyasa flow yoga produces a smooth sequence of postures, known as “asanas”, one leading into the next. Each movement in the series is completed on an inhalation or an exhalation. Through focus on achieving proper form and on breathing, it allows each student to progress at their individual pace and challenge themselves regardless of their experience level.

Their emphasis is on movement and the physical results include cardiovascular improvement, strength training through muscle resistance, and joint therapy. Beyond the physical benefits, Vinyasa flow yoga practice can bring about a state of balance and peace that can be felt in every aspect of the student′s life outside the studio. As a chosen form of practice, they believe that Vinyasa′s strength is in its diversity. There is no rulebook or rigid philosophy to follow. The teacher is free to create their own series of asanas. This is key because it allows for almost unlimited potential for variety, which keeps the student engaged and focused in the moment. If you enjoy the unpredictable and thrive on variety, their style of Vinyasa flow yoga is probably perfect for you.

At Firefly Hot Yoga Miami, they offer Power Vinyasa Yoga classes for beginner and intermediate students. Classes are conducted in a comfortably heated room in order to promote weight loss, improve circulation, detoxify the body, and to relax the muscles for maximum range of motion. All classes are held in small groups in order to give the maximum attention to each student. Private classes are available for up to 4 people at both their South Miami and Miami Beach locations, but for the best one-on-one instruction, two students per session are recommended….
